For Andover Town’s visit to Amesbury Town Mcaulie Stubbs replaced the injured Liam Gilbert with Chris Onoufriou taking the Captains armband. The grass on the pitch was noticeably long but it did not affect the game too much. In a closely contested game Andover Town settled quickly and confidently and within 8 Minutes Charlie Gunson had given Andover the lead picking the ball up outside the area took a few strides forward and fired into the bottom right hand corner. Amesbury responded quickly and a free kick they were awarded was easily saved by Jamie Bray. Adam Grange almost doubled Andover’s lead when he cut in but his shot sailed over the bar. Before Half time Gunson played a through ball that Plummer just failed to connect, Chris Onoufriou had a chance to score but his clever lob went just past the Post. Charlie Gunson also had shot which just cleared the crossbar. Andover went into the Halftime Break 1-0 to the good.

Within 5 mins of the Restart Andover where awarded a free kick which strangely ended in Rudi Plummer being booked. In the 63rd minute Amesbury levelled the scores when a shot out wide on the Andover right hand side which would normally have ended up with the ball in the Car Park found the top left hand corner nothing any keeper could have done, just a really good strike. 68th Minute Zach Glasspool replaced Rudi Plummer. On 72 Minutes Luke Dempsey restored Andover’s lead when he bundled the ball over the line from a cross from the right. On 74 Minutes Javier Santafe replaced McCaulie Stubbs. Charlie Gunson and Chris Onoufriou were booked. The last substitution for Andover was our new signing from Henley Town Ben Blackwell who replaced Adam Grant. Andover Town at the final whistle completed their 2nd win in 4 days. Good performance and the partnership between Gregory and Dempsey is getting better every game
