With the Jones household divided the wife opting for sofa, Chinese and beers at our friends house whilst I went for the fresh air option of Fortress Portway.

The weather totally off its rocker the blue army turning up in anything from shorts and shades to full artic kit, it was time partake in fortifying the soul as Saturday was still hurting. A pleasant surprise and a big thanks to Paz for liberating Guinness to sustain us through 90 minutes of action.

Kick off a punt forward by the blues found the head of the Broughton captain which skewed off for a corner. Corner taken and headed in with aplomb by Owen Trapnell. A mighty roar from the blue army was followed by well only got to hold on for 89 minutes 30 seconds. We could not believe 30 seconds in not only had we scored but taken the lead..

All good things come to end and so it was after 7 minutes of constant pressure and corners Broughton equalised. Then it began a familiar theme lots of pressure Broughton with the bluese occasionally breaking out at 20 minutes Broughton scored again, ah this had a familiar feel to it now. To be fair I thought we played better and felt at 2-1 we were still in there with a shout. The play to and froed chances seam to dry up for both sides although one stunning miss by Broughton was met by ironic cheers. Half time shot around such was the pace of play. 2-1 to Broughton it stayed.

A quick start by Broughton found us 3-1 down. 10 minutes later found 2 Broughton players clean through apart from the titan that is Chris Redshaw and penalty duly awarded. With the argument in the crowd wether he should have conceded the penalty, from where we stood at the shed end it clear to us our number 4 was going to take it. Confusing as it looked a Broughton player tried to despatch the ball but must have been watching too much premier league and found Chris's gloves instead. 4-1 came around too soon and even the fans heads dropped slightly. Broughton's 5th goal one to Grace any game a free kick in line and to the side of the 18 yard box ito the opposite top corner. A shot by Logan i think nearly found the top corner for us. Then another penalty for Broughton rounded it up to 6-1. One more shot for us. Chris went off injured, hope it's not to bad ? The final whistle went.

Still at least i didn't have to suffer watching England winning 5 nil.
