Andover Town 3–2 Salisbury

Once the competitive season gets underway pre-season encounters are usually quickly forgotten. However for Andover Town supporters, at least, this was one such game that be discussed for sometime.

The Salisbury squad included five players with first team experience and their slick passing game ensured they dominated much of the first half. However, Andover, parading three new faces, made few mistakes at the back and were still able to create chances of their own.

A penalty converted by Brenden Goodship finally broke the deadlock and just before the break Goodship was again on target to give Salisbury a strong advantage.

Eight minutes into the second period Hatcham pulled a goal back for Andover with a brilliant effort that in a competitive match would have been a major contender for goal of the season. This certainly allowed Andover to up their game and in due course Ryan Griffiths took on and beat his marker to fire in the equalizer. From now on nothing went wrong for Andover and Jordan Smith scored the last of three top quality goals to confirm an impressive victory.
