Fleet Spurs 1–4 Andover Town

Andover Town secured their place in the second round of the Hampshire Senior Cup but the victory was not as comfortable as the final score line may suggest. Fleet Spurs searching for their first win of the season dominated the opening exchanges and almost ten minutes passed before Andover created their first real opportunity.

Midway through the half they took the lead when Ryan Griffiths hit a thirty yard volley through a packed area into the net. Another long range effort by Jake Watson, perhaps taking a leaf out of Griffiths book made it two for Andover and a comfortable half time lead.

Soon after the restart Fleet had chances to reduce the arrears but Andover remained resolute at the back. As the game progressed Fleet looked more disorganised at the back and when Griffiths was tripped just inside the box David Jerrard converted the penalty. Shortly after Ben Emans, finalised an excellent performance throughout the game ,hammering in a volley from the edge of the area which thundered against a post before ricocheting into the net. Fleet grabbed a consolation goal in added time leaving Andover to prepare for a second round tie at Aldershot Many thanks to the Town's travelling support who outnumbered the local support.
