Ringwood Town 1–1 Andover Town

Andover Town left Ringwood with a share of the spoils in Saturday’s mid-table clash again ruing a failure to convert dominance with the ball into three points. The home side came in to the game on the back of several league defeats whilst Andover travelled off the back of a much needed three points against Folland Sports at the Portway. With Ben Emans returning from injury, Andover, bit-by-bit, are getting their strongest squad out on the pitch. Andover were much the better team from the kick-off without engineering much the way of clear-cut opportunities. However, as has been the case on a number of occasions so far this season, a defensive lapse in concentration saw Pattison dispossessed whilst attempting to bring the ball out from the back enabling Ringwood's forward, Ryan Hamm, to race through and place the ball past the advancing McHardy in the Andover goal. Zac Hine came closest, hitting the post from distance after Andover were awarded a free kick. The home side held the lead up until the break with Andover needing to regroup.

As has been the case in recent weeks, Andover’s response to going a goal down showed character. They harassed and dominated the ball in the second half but it wasn’t until Hale and Neve came off the bench that they found the breakthrough. Tom Pattison mishitting a shot that fell to Josh Bertie who continued his rich vein of form with eighth goal in thriteen games by hammering home from the edge of the box. With twenty minutes still remaining, Andover continued to press for the winner and, despite some half chances, they failed to create anything of note. In the end, both teams had to settle for a point apiece as Andover turn the attentions to the THE derby on Tuesday, visiting Foxcotte to play Andover New Street.
