Andover Town2–2○Horndean

Andover had previously extended their unbeaten run to five league games last Tuesday with a 2-2 draw at Horndean United. The Portway side continued their impressive turnaround in form with a strong display against their mid-table opponents, but were denied all three points by a late Jack Maloney penalty.

Charlie Gunson also continued his recent run of good form, scoring both of Town’s goals on the night. The forward finished off a good team goal on 17 minutes to give Andover the early lead. However, Horndean hit back on 38 minutes to level the game at halftime. Town continued to press after the break and took the lead once more when Zach Glasspool’s good hold up play was finished well by Gunson.

However, the visitors denied Andover all three points, with midfielder Maloney slotting home a penalty to equalise in the 82nd minute.
